The ENDURANCE Project, a Horizon Europe initiative launched in October 2024, brings together a dynamic consortium of 23 partner organisations from seven European countries. Its core mission is to significantly enhance the resilience of Europe’s Critical Infrastructures (CI), which span vital sectors such as energy, health, digital services, public administration, drinking water, and wastewater.

In an era marked by increasing cyber and physical threats, the ENDURANCE Project responds to an urgent need: to ensure that Europe’s essential services can withstand, adapt to, and recover from a wide range of disruptions. These may include cyberattacks, physical sabotage, climate-induced disasters, or even inadvertent human error.

Led by EVIDEN in Romania, the project officially commenced on 1 October 2024. The kick-off meeting took place on 15 October in Timisoara, Romania, where partners came together to align on the project’s roadmap and strategic objectives. This successful launch event not only laid the groundwork for an ambitious three-year journey but also reaffirmed a shared commitment among all partners to protect Europe’s infrastructure landscape.

With €5 million in EU funding under Grant Agreement no. 101168007, the ENDURANCE Project aims to deliver robust methodologies, interoperable technologies, and pragmatic strategies that will strengthen Europe’s capacity to anticipate, absorb, and adapt to any form of disruption.
