ENDURANCE Partner Insight series
Can you provide a brief overview of your organisation and its role in the ENDURANCE project?

Carr Communications (CCL) is one of Ireland’s most established communications companies, with a longstanding reputation in media, public relations, strategic communications, and business training. For almost 20 years, we have supported EU-funded research and innovation projects as the Communication and Dissemination Manager, helping to make their outcomes visible, accessible, and impactful.
In the ENDURANCE project, CCL is responsible for leading communication, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge sharing. Our role involves developing the project’s visual identity, building its online presence, creating promotional materials, and ensuring that the project’s work reaches people, from policymakers to professionals and the wider public. We focus on making complex information easy to understand and act upon.

How does the ENDURANCE project align with your organisation’s mission and objectives? Why is it significant to your sector, and what impact do you hope it will have?

The ENDURANCE project aligns closely with CCL’s mission to help organisations communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively. As a communications and PR company, we believe that impactful storytelling and strategic engagement are essential to driving awareness, understanding, and action, especially around issues that affect public safety and resilience. This project gives us the opportunity to apply our expertise in communicating important, often technical topics to a broad range of audiences. It also highlights the vital role that communication plays in ensuring that research and innovation projects reach the people who can benefit from them most.

What specific contributions is your organisation making to the ENDURANCE project? What are the key outcomes or goals your organisation hopes to achieve through the ENDURANCE projecT?

Our main contribution to the ENDURANCE project is leading the communication and dissemination of its research, work, and results. This includes developing a clear brand and message for the project, managing
its digital channels such as the website and social media, producing promotional content, and supporting outreach to key audiences across Europe. We are also focused on building connections with stakeholders in policy, research, and industry to help ensure the project’s results are understood, shared, and used. So far, we have created a strong foundation for communication and engagement that will continue to grow as the project progresses.

Looking ahead, what lasting impact do you hope the ENDURANCE project will have on your organisation, the sector, or the broader community? What are your long-term goals related to the project?

Looking ahead, we believe ENDURANCE will have a lasting impact by creating a strong, recognisable voice for resilience in Europe’s Critical Infrastructures. For CCL, it offers the opportunity to refine our
communication strategies and expand our experience in supporting complex, cross-border projects that deal with some of today’s biggest societal challenges.
It is also helping us strengthen relationships with key players in civil protection, infrastructure, and policy. We plan to use the knowledge, tools, and insights developed through ENDURANCE to support future projects and help others share their work in ways that truly make a difference.

What key insights or advice would you offer to other partners or future collaborators? Is there anything else you’d like to share about your organisation’s involvement in ENDURANCE or any final thoughts on the project’s future?

One of the most important lessons from our experience in ENDURANCE so far is the value of early and strategic planning for communication. Thinking ahead about who needs to know what, and how best to reach them, is essential for real impact. Our advice to future partners is to prioritise open communication within the team and make space for creativity. Building a shared understanding between technical experts and communication professionals leads to stronger outcomes for all.
