Can you provide a brief overview of your organisation and its role in the ENDURANCE project?
Eviden Technologies SRL offers cutting-edge, best in class, end-to-end IT services. The company is based in Romania, and it provides services in the following areas: software development, cybersecurity, Big Data, High Performance Computers, and Digitization solutions for customers all over the world.
The Research and Innovation Center (RIC) in Romania is dedicated to fostering continuous innovation and growth aligned with our key objectives, being pivotal to endorse our research and development initiatives. While we are currently engaged in several EU-funded projects across various sectors, including defense, resilience of critical infrastructures, and emerging technologies, our vision for the future is as ambitious as it is multifaceted. Guided by our strategic business initiatives, the RIC is committed to exploring new opportunities and advancing our expansion goals through the streams of funding provided by the Digital, Horizon and EDF programs.
We are the project coordinator for ENDURANCE, overseeing and steering project activities, contributing to all Work Packages, and ensuring the consortium aligns with the defined objectives and guidelines.
Our leadership encompasses Project Management, the prototyping and implementation of Digital Twin technologies, and the oversight of the second phase of Disruption Resilience services. This includes the prototyping and implementation of Collaborative Large-Scale Simulation and Resilience Training Services, as well as the development of Advanced Dashboards for Critical Infrastructure Authorities and Operators.
We will steer our project partners in developing the Romanian Pilot, ensuring that project results will be rigorously tested, demonstrated, and validated.
How does the ENDURANCE project align with your organisation’s mission and objectives? Why is it significant to your sector, and what impact do you hope it will have?
Eviden is a provider of cybersecurity and mission-critical systems, offering solutions that draw on a combination of technical skills (design, development, testing, and integration) and industry sector know-how (in transport, energy, critical infrastructures, aerospace, healthcare, and defense systems).
With ENDURANCE, we aim to further strengthen our expertise in the resilience field, and to develop robust solutions for critical infrastructure providers in sectors such as healthcare, energy, etc. By harnessing advanced technologies and innovative methodologies, we will create services that guarantee continuity and reliability. This initiative not only aligns with our company’s mission to deliver state-of-the-art, dependable solutions but also empowers CIs to strengthen their resilience and sustainability.
What specific contributions is your organisation making to the ENDURANCE project? What are the key outcomes or goals your organisation hopes to achieve through the ENDURANCE projecT?
Eviden Technologies SRL encompasses a unique synergistic alliance of computing & security solutions bringing intelligence and AI across the digital continuum and delivering end-to-end zero trust, business continuity and resilience, coherently addressing cyber security from a technological perspective keeping a holistic approach in mind (considering people, processes, and technology), to ensure innovation in the field of cyber incidents detection, impact assessment and response.
With ENDURANCE, our organization’s primary goal is to help build the resilience of critical infrastructures across EU member states and strengthen cooperation between key players to ensure the continuity of essential services. We aim to enhance resilience by cultivating collaborative mechanisms that transcend national boundaries.
Additionally, our organization is committed to contributing to the development of supporting frameworks that align with contemporary challenges, including assisting guidelines designed to facilitate the implementation of the CER and NIS2 directives. We aim to enable states to effectively bolster their preparedness against a range of adversities, including cyber threats, malicious technology-driven initiatives, natural disasters, and other emerging risks.
Looking ahead, what lasting impact do you hope the ENDURANCE project will have on your organisation, the sector, or the broader community? What are your long-term goals related to the project?
Eviden provides comprehensive IT services and solutions, and this is what marks the beginning of our ENDURANCE journey. However, our long-term objectives reflect a more ambitious commitment to enhancing societal well-being.
Beyond our technological contributions, which empower critical infrastructure operators with essential tools for incident management and specialized simulation solutions aimed at anticipating and mitigating hazardous events, we aspire to create a lasting impact on the wider community.
To this effect, our goal is to strengthen the legal landscape through the development of resilience-focused frameworks and policies, as well as to set the foundation for cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing by establishing dedicated protocols and services.
What key insights or advice would you offer to other partners or future collaborators? Is there anything else you’d like to share about your organisation’s involvement in ENDURANCE or any final thoughts on the project’s future?
We are confident that resilience building presents significant opportunities for future enhancements, with substantial potential for innovation, spin-offs, and cross-sector collaboration.
As the threat landscape evolves and adversaries become increasingly sophisticated and multifaceted, entities (private or public) must adopt enabling and disruptive technologies to address these challenges effectively.
