21–23 October 2024

The ENDURANCE consortium gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia, for a three-day plenary meeting focused on advancing resilience solutions for Europe’s critical infrastructures. From 21 to 23 October, partners worked together to review progress, align strategies, and accelerate key technical and innovation activities shaping the project’s future impact.

Hosted by the Institute for Corporative Security Studies (ICS), along with AKOS, Telekom Slovenije, Silver Bullet Risk, ELES and the Government Office for Information Security of the Republic of Slovenia, the meeting provided an important opportunity to reinforce cooperation across the consortium.

Day 1 — Project Progress and Strategic Outlook

The plenary opened with a complete overview of all ENDURANCE work packages. Partners presented:

  • Achieved milestones and submitted deliverables
  • Ongoing developments and next steps
  • Action items, challenges, and identified risks
  • Progress updates from across the project

The afternoon shifted the focus toward ensuring long-term impact through:

  • Communication, dissemination, standardisation, and policy engagement
  • Exploitation strategies, IPR and innovation management
  • Ethical compliance
  • Impact assessment activities

These discussions set a strong foundation for a productive and forward-looking meeting.

Day 2 — Technical Alignment and Data-Driven Innovation

The second day concentrated on technical coordination, data strategies, and integration with the project’s pilots. A dedicated workshop, “Resilience-Relevant Data vs. Resilience-Relevant Services & Pilots Debriefing,” explored:

  • Data management and open-data principles
  • Risk and resilience-related services
  • Pilot requirements and expectations

In the afternoon, Engineering Group and Eviden Romania led the ENDURANCE Technical Workshop, focusing on the project architecture:

  • Data flows and interconnectivity layers
  • Security-by-design strategies
  • Interoperability across systems and work packages

This collaborative engineering effort continues to drive a robust and scalable technological approach for strengthening infrastructure resilience across Europe.

Day 3 — Resilience Strategy and Sustainable Impact

The final day highlighted elements essential to sustainability and responsible innovation:

  • A resilience strategy workshop addressing multi-level protection of critical infrastructures
  • Ethics and compliance to ensure trustworthy solutions
  • Exploitation planning to secure long-lasting value creation

Partners concluded the plenary with clear priorities and renewed motivation to deliver impactful results in the months ahead.

We extend our sincere gratitude to: Institute for Corporative Security Studies (ICS), AKOS, Telekom Slovenije, Silver Bullet Risk, ELES, and the Government Office for Information Security of the Republic of Slovenia for their excellent organisation, support, and warm hospitality.
