BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF PARTNER
Friuli Venezia Giulia is an autonomous region located in the extreme north-east of the Italian territory. Bordering Austria and Slovenia, FVG, with a population of 1.2 million, has traditionally been Italy’s “gateway” to the Balkan Peninsula and a crossroads between the north-south and west-east European corridors.
Within the Italian context, Friuli Venezia Giulia stands out for its relative wealth, characterized by middle-to-high employment rates and GDP per capita, as well as a very equal distribution of wealth.
Regional spending on research and development is substantial, with strong contributions from both the private and public sectors, positioning the Friuli Venezia Giulia among the top Italian regions in the EU Regional Innovation Scoreboard.
Through its ICT Department and its in-house company Insiel S.p.A., the region fosters the development of SIIR (Regional Integrated Information System), providing hardware and software resources to regional agencies, municipalities, and the public health sector, and implementing shared databases and solutions for the entire regional community.
Role in the project
The Autonomous Region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (FVG) is an integral part of the ENDURANCE project. FVG is a direct beneficiary of the project, actively contributing to the sharing of knowledge and experiences among consortium partners.
The region participates in the MICRO Pilot ITALY, which focuses on the resilience of critical infrastructures within Public Administration in FVG.
