BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF PARTNER
The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a research organisation associated with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and has about 40 laboratories and research units presently active which are established by the implementation of several structural programmes. The Distributed, Knowledge and Media Systems Group (DKMS), is research laboratory operating under ICCS, conducting research in:
- Advanced Distributed Computing, dealing with topics such as Service Oriented Architectures, BigData, Edge/Cloud Computing, Internet of Things and Distributed Ledger Technologies. Related Projects which our group has led or participated: ENACT (HE), TruBlo (H2020), Pledger (H2020), DataPorts (H2020), M-Sec (H2020), Basmati (H2020), BigClouT (H2020), DITAS (H2020), 4CaaSt (FP7), COSMOS, OPTIMIS (FP7), +Spaces (FP7), PONTE (FP7), IRMOS (FP7), CHALLENGERS (FP6) etc.
- Knowledge, Media & Digital Art, dealing with topics such as Social Analytics, Knowledge Representation and Domain Modelling, Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Systems. Related Projects which our group has led or participated: DATAMITE (HE), EcoMobility (HE), HarmonicSS (H2020), AI4HealthSec (H2020), SocIoS (FP7), RADICAL (PSP), OpenScienceLink (PSP), ANSWER (FP7), SCOVIS (FP7), POLYMNIA (FP6), FIDIS (FP6), ITACITUS (FP6), etc.
The DKMS group of ICCS/NTUA includes more than 20 scientists (including PhD students, Senior Researchers and Professors) performing research in blockchains, social networks, Machine Learning technologies and cloud infrastructure technologies. The group has participated in more than 60 projects at national and European level with a network of more than 200 partners worldwide. The research work of the group has been published in more than 300 papers in international conferences and journals.
Role in the project
ICCS is a Leader of Work Package 5 (WP5) about ENABLERS : Disruption Resilience Enablers (Phase 1). ICCS is leading the tasks regarding the “Analysis of the Current State of Affairs” (T3.2 and T4.2) and the tasks about the “Means for Awareness Raising & Skills Development” (T5.4 and T6.4). ICCS is also involved in many other tasks of the ENDURANCE project.
